''No Woman No Drive” Saudi song goes viral

This weekend, a group of brave Saudi women defied a ban on driving and took to the wheel in protest against the oppressive rules of their country.

They posted photographs and YouTube videos of themselves online in protest against the oppressive rules of their country.

There are no specific laws banning women from driving in Saudi Arabia, but women are not allowed to apply for driver's licenses.

Calling himself an artist and social activist, comedian Hisham Fageeh has penned the song below about the oppression of women in his country. It has had over four million hits already.
Oppression of women in Saudi Arabia - Did you know...
...every woman has to have a ‘male guardian’, either a father, brother or husband? These men have the same legal power over the woman as a parent has over a child.
...women need to ask formal permission from their guardians to travel, work, get medical treatment and attend school?
...women are also fully dependent on their guardians for finances, housing and transport (women are banned from driving), so they often have drivers to transport them to the shops, or even just to visit a friend.
